Inflation Rises Higher Than Expected for January

Inflation Rises Higher Than Expected for January

The Bureau of Labor Statistics says Inflation in January rose more than economists had forecast.

The bureau’s consumer price index, which tracks price changes of a basket of consumer goods, rose 2.1%.

Those polled by Bloomberg had forecasted a 1.9% jump.

Nearly all major items tracked rose in price, notably clothes, gasoline, housing, and food.
