Monstrous Black Hole Eats The Sun's Mass Every Two Days
Scientists have discovered a supermassive black hole that eats up the mass of our sun every two days.
????Researchers at the Australian National University found the fastest growing black hole known in the the universe.
????They looked back over 12 billion years into what they are calling "the early dark ages of the universe."????It’s already estimated to be the size of 20 billion suns and takes a million years to grow by 1%.
????And it is so bright that if it were at the center of our Milky Way galaxy, it would pretty much wash out all other stars in the sky.
????This is because of all the gas it ingests that causes a lot of friction and heat.
????Lead researcher Dr Christian Wolf says that a big benefit to finding black holes is they make other objects easier to see when the shadows of other objects move in front of them.
????And if finding the fastest growing black hole known to man wasn’t enough, researchers at ANU are already searching for even more of them.
