The fairytale wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle is finally here, and to celebrate, why not get a bit closer to Britain's newest royal with these little known facts.
First of all, Meghan is actually her middle name.
The American actress' first name is actually Rachel, and interestingly, her most famous role was on the TV series 'Suits', playing a character named Rachel.
Her childhood nickname, however, was Flower.
But whatever you call her, Markle was born to be a star.
Growing up in LA, her dad was the director of photography for the popular sitcom 'Married with Children', and Meghan spent plenty of time hanging out on the set.
Even once she became famous herself, her dad would call her after watching her performances and give her tips about the lighting and camera work to pass on to the crew.
After graduating college with a dual degree in acting and international relations, Markle still had to work some odd jobs to make ends meet while searching for her big break.
One of them was serving as a "briefcase girl" on the game show 'Deal or No Deal', where she once got to meet Donald Trump.
But she also had an entrepreneurial streak, setting up her own business doing calligraphy.
It was her handwriting that adorned the invitations to the wedding of Robin Thicke and Paula Patton in 2005.
Meghan's stylist is her BFF Jessica Mulroney, but there's one thing the fashionable actress insists on picking out herself: her jewelry.
She's revealed that when she was appearing on 'Suits', all the jewelry she wore on screen was her own, including family heirlooms like a charm bracelet left to her by her grandmother.
Finally, you might be aware that Markle loves animals, and has two rescue dogs at home.
But did you know that it's thanks to Ellen DeGeneres that she adopted one of the pups?
Apparently, Meghan was playing with a dog at a shelter, trying to decide whether to get him, when Ellen, who happened to also be there and didn't yet know Markle, walked by and told her "you HAVE to take that dog".
Meghan brought the pooch home that same day.
