Hoosier Volunteers Gear Up For Hurricane Michael Relief

Hoosier relief organizations are ready to send help to those affected by that hurricane.

Right now those volunteers are basically stuck in a holding pattern - until they get a clearer picture how bad the damage is - and where itús happening.

Local relief groups are doing what they can to prepare for deployment - but until itús safe - they canút start moving supplies and people.

Midwest food bank is a first responder for the salvation army.

Its executive director john whitaker expects their services to be called - but until the extent of the damage is known - it's not efficient to send people and supplies just yet.

Despite that - other organizations are also preparing to move out.

Duchess says, "emergency response vehicles will be definitely heading down, definitely disaster relief supplies, and of course people to help support the relief of the disaster at hand."

Duke energy already has teams on the road.
