- biloxi police will be holding - random- checkpoints throughout the city- over the holiday- season.

- these checkpoints are to ensure- that everyone - is driving sober with all of th- balls and parades - that are taking place.- they will not only be checking- for sobriety, but - also if you have a valid- driver's license and- are wearing your seatbelt.- we spoke with major chris de- back of biloxi police and he- says they want everyone to enjo- mardi - gras, but while making safe - decisions.- - major de back:"during different events, you have the mardi gras- balls and - parades and everything else.- people are certaintly out there- and enjoying- themselves and they partake in- alcoholic beverages.

We're just- asking that they either - have a designated driver, call - cab.

You know be safe and - responsible.
