Small Plane Crashes in Valley Stream After Running Out of Fuel

A small plane crashed in the front yard of a Valley Stream, New York, home on Sunday night, April 14, after running out of fuel over Long Island, according to local reports.

Video from Clarendon Drive shows the downed plane caught in power lines with its nose hanging precariously just above the grass of a local family home on Sunday night.

Emergency officials can be seen in the street near the landing site.

Of a reported three on board, only one sustained a minor injury, spraining their finger, according to local reports.

The plane made a total of six failed landing attempts, four at nearby Republic Airport and another two at John F Kennedy Airport, before running out of fuel over Valley Stream, according to the media reports.

Local media cited Nassau County Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder as saying the plane had hit the roof of a church and power lines on its descent.
