Hamilton church pushes through storm

The storms that battered north mississippi left hundreds of structures damaged or destoryed...,,,, and not just home and businesses... in monroe county... a local church is also cleaning up after the storms... and with easter sunday this weekend... wtva's taylor smith spoke with one local pastor about their sudden change of plans... ((take pkg)) sot: "the only thing we could do was to get on our knees and pray" thats what brother billy said as he described that terrifying night... sot:" it was scary you know it really was" the pastor who lives across from the church not only had to worry about his home but the house of god as well sot: "when we were able to actually see the damage we were just disheartened" parts of the roof were ripped off sot: "it's just not safe to be in and stuff potentates falling on people" bridge : "an the cemetery that belongs to the church was not left untouched by the storm either... tumbstones have been knocked over and flowers that layed on them scattered across the property..."

But the pastor says he knows there is a reason the tornado came through this town sot: "the community has been so great about helping a group of guys pulled up and they didn't even say anything just pulled out a ladder and started helping and i was like thank you god.

He knew we needed help and he provided" the collapsing roof and rolled over tumbstones are not what they are focusing on sot:"the bible teaches us in mathew to be the hands and feet of jesus and so that's what we're seeing we are seeing that in action" that was wtva's taylor smith reporting... brother billy says they do not want to let this storm get in the way of celebrating jesus this weekend.

So they are going to try to get some tents and chairs set up outside here.

And make the best out of a terrible situation.
