According to Business Insider, the Justice Department will oversee a federal antitrust investigation into Apple.

Although the Federal Trade Commission is also responsible for investigating antitrust violations, the Department of Justice will have jurisdiction over Apple.

The news follows a report that the Justice Department will oversee another antitrust investigation into Google's parent company Alphabet.

Mean while, the FTC will handle antitrust investigations into Amazon and Facebook.
