Michael Avenatti's trial date set for his alleged attempt to extort millions from Nike
Lawyer Michael Avenatti is scheduled to go to trial on Nov.
12th in federal court in Manhattan on charges of extorting Nike Incorporated.
The 48-year-old attorney and outspoken critic of U.S. President Donald Trump, was arrested in New York in March on charges of trying to extort more than $20 million from Nike.
Reuters reports Avenatti allegedly threatened to expose what he called its improper payments to recruits for college basketball teams it sponsored.
