The long-term goal of the Starlink program is to eventually launch thousands of satellites in order to blanket the world with high-speed internet access.

On Friday, a SpaceX spokesperson said that 45 of the 60 spacecraft succeeded in using their small ion engines to reach their final orbits around the Earth.
