Congressman Justin Amash Has Quit The GOP

CNN reports that Congressman Justin Amash, an outspoken critic of President Trump, has quit the Republican Party.

In a Washington Post op-ed Amash wrote: "Today, I am declaring my independence and leaving the Republican Party." Amash asked citizens and fellow politicians to reject party loyalty and seek something better.

Trump appeared to celebrate Amash's departure on Twitter.

Trump slammed Amash as a party defector who would not have been re-elected.
