France's Macron congratulates Boris Johnson as Britain's new Prime Minister

French President Emmanuel Macron congratulated Boris Johnson’s win as Britain’s next prime minister.

Future head of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen also congratulated Johnson.

She said: “I’m looking forward to having a good working relationship with him.” Macron said he also looks forward to working with Johnson over European issues, such as Brexit negotiations.

But also wants to work on international security issues, such as the problems with Iran.
