Facebook and Instagram to Restrict Alcohol and Tobacco Content A new Facebook policy will limit sales and content related to alcohol and tobacco products,
The new policy prohibits private sales, trades and gifting of alcohol or tobacco on Facebook and Instagram, a spokeswoman told CNN.
The policy also applies to Facebook groups selling alcohol or tobacco.
The spokeswoman said the company will "use a combination of technology, human review and reports from our community to find and remove any content that violates these policies." Recently, the e-cigarette company Juul has been accused of contributing to an epidemic of teen vaping.
The company came under fire for paying popular Instagram users to promote its device.
