In the wake of two mass shootings in El Paso, Texas and Dayton, Ohio, the National Rifle Association expressed their sympathies.

Both shootings involved assault-style rapid-fire weapons, says Business Insider.

In a statement, the NRA noted that it "will not participate in the politicizing of these tragedies." Meanwhile, in June the NRA managed to pressure Texas into loosening existing gun laws.
