Included in the flood of hundreds of new lawsuits filed yesterday are local lawsuits....and not just against churches and the clergy.

Peter's in north utica from 1976 - 1981" according to the attorneys, the physical abuse was only part of the betrayal contained within the pages of these lawsuits.

The alleged rome school victim is a female whose identity was concealed and was 11 years old at the time of the alleged abuse around 1990.
The leatherstocking suit involves three now- adult male victims identified only by the initials jd, rs and rp.
That abuse allegedly happened in the 1970s and 80s.
In response, the leatherstocking council said, in part, quote, "first and foremost, we care deeply about all victims of abuse and sincerely apologize to anyone who was harmed during their time in scouting.
We are outraged that there have been tines when individuals took advantage of our programs to abuse innocent children..."they went on to say they support complete elimination of the criminal statue of limitations for child abuse.
It ipsible, perhapeven likely, that stament andothers organizaons will ha to be ted out again the near future.
