S&p 500 gained nearly seven.

It's weekend in the six oh eight and here with a look at what's going on in the area is joel patenaude with madison magazine.

This is the 30th anniversary since the first gay pride parade in madison.

But rather than just a parade, there are several things going on in town this weekend.

But i'll talk about two of them.

On saturday, the majestic theatre is hosting a night of live hip-hop by a handful of local and regional lbtq artist.

Among those performing at the third-annual hot summer gays, as the event is called, is dequadray smith, a student in the uw- madison first wave arts program.

Then on sunday, 1-6 p.m., at warner park is the outreach magic festival speeches, more live music, entertainment for all ages, food and drink and lots of vendors.

Yes, the fitchburg agora art fair returns sunday to the agora center building.

More than 100 artists and thousands of fairgoers are expected at the 11th annual art fair showcasing local and regional painters, jewelers, ceramicists, photographers and sculptors.

Go for the art,ood and drink and bring the little ones to the children's art yard for some hands-on fun.

There are a lot of options, as usual, but i would suggest the james hunter concert at the majestic theatre tomorrow night.

Hunter is a british soul singe and blues guitarist who has toured and recorded with van morrison and opened shows for ats as big and varied as willie nelson, aretha franklin and etta james.

A grammy- nominated musician, hunter is now headlining his own tour on the strength of his 2018 album "whatever it takes."

So him his friday night at the majestic.

As a former runner with a bum knee, i could probably do this one too.

Sunday at 10 a.m.

Is the .1k resistance run.

It may be the shortest charity race you could ever complete.

Participants will start at the high noon saloon and run to the sylvee - a distance of roughly one city block.

But finishers will receive a medal and .1k sticker to display with pride.

And they get entry into the sylvee for a show by the country-and- rock cover band the pork tornadoes.

A portion of proceeds will benefit underdog pet rescue of wisconsin.
