Cotton Picker and Combine Harvester Duke It Out at Demolition Derby in Southern Queensland
A cotton picker and combine harvester duked it out at a demolition derby that was held as part of the annual Mungindi Show in Southern Queensland, on August 10.
This footage was recorded by Stacey Garsed, who was on the committee that helped organize the event.
She told Storyful that the derby had a total of four entries, which included three combine harvesters and one cotton picker from “local growers/contractors in our region.” Nominations for next year’s event are already being made, according to Garsed.
She described the event as a “massive crowd puller.” Mugindi is a small rural town which lies on the border of New South Wales and Queensland that has experienced a drought.
Garsed felt the event, “really developed camaraderie and morale in our region, which is invaluable to us given the tough ongoing drought conditions.” She continued by saying, “Our committee is proud to be able to pull together a two-day weekend of family activities.” Credit: Stacey Garsed via Storyful
