Yet he is unhappy with automakers like Ford Motor who are not supporting his administration's plan.
The company recently backed out of a deal with California for stricter fuel economy standards.
Instead, they signed a voluntary agreement on fuel efficiency rules, along with Honda, BMW and Volkswagen.
According to Reuters, this agreement goes against Trump’s attempt to keep the state from setting its own standards.
