Rain Will Not Be Enough To Extinguish Amazon Fires
The world’s largest tropical rainforest is being ravaged by fire as the number of blazes have risen 79% this year.
Meteorologists say weak rainfall is unlikely to extinguish the record number of fires raging through Brazil’s Amazon.
According to Reuters, pockets of precipitation are forecast through Sept.
10th but are expected to bring little relief.
The fires are not limited to Brazil.
Nearly 3,800 square miles are burning in Bolivia near its border with Paraguay and Brazil.
