The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration said the lights will be best seen on Saturday and Sunday.

This is due to geomagnetic storm activity, according to Business Insider.

So which states have the best chance to see the aurora borealis?

Washington, Idaho, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Maine.
