Amazon Adds HD Music Tier to Streaming Service
Amazon Adds HD Music
Tier to Streaming Service.
Amazon recently announced the launch
of Amazon Music HD, the latest add-on to
their popular music streaming service.
The new tier offers lossless versions of audio files for
both streaming and downloading at just $14.99 a month.
That is significantly less than Tidal’s
$19.99 a month plan, which is their main
competitor for this type of high-quality audio.
A 90-day free trial is currently available to
listeners in the U.S., U.K., Germany and Japan.
Other streaming services such as Spotify and Apple Music
have yet to launch a lossless audio plan for customers.
Amazon’s “High Definition”
music catalog has over 50 million
songs with a bit depth of 16 bits
and a 44.1kHz sample rate.
It also offers millions of songs considered
“Ultra HD,” as they have a bit depth of
24 bits and up to a 192kHz sample rate.
