Hillary Clinton told the audience that President Trump's strategy is to lie to the American people in order to delegitimize the democratic process in America.

She was addressing a forum on American Democracy at the George Washington University on Tuesday.

Clinton added that top political leaders including Senator Mitch McConnell are abdicating their responsibility to defend and protect the Constitution.

Her comments come as Republicans in the House complain that after months of hearings on Russian influence during the 2016 elections, the Democrats have not put forward legislation to address the question of foreign interference going forward.
