And purdue university is taking steps to prevent confusion between the university and the company.

The pharmaceutical company has made billions on the highly addictive painkiller- oxycontin.

The pharmacy was founded in 1892 in manhattan.

Purdue university was established in 1869 and has never had ties with the company.

Purdue's director of public information tim doty says there is a plan in place to prevent further confusion.
