According to Reuters, a federal judge made the order, which will stand until a court can rule on the matter.

Previously, only immigrants detained within 100 miles of the border, who had been in the US less than two weeks, could be rapidly deported.

The policy makes an exception for immigrants who can establish a “credible fear” of persecution in their home country.
