At (time) it's time now for our (day) morning sprint here on good morning northwest... we will check in with chief meteorologist kristin walls in just a minute but first heres a look at todays top stories.
A police chase with a stolen vehicle this morning in kennewick... around 1:20 a-m kennewick police were notified that a vehicle stolen a couple weeks ago was seen parked near north columbia center bouelvard and tapteal loop... ... police say it was speeding through columbia park before it struck a curb in a roundabout and flattened a tire... a spike strip was used to flatten two more tires... ... after a foot chase they arrested the driver -- 33-year-old jesse croxton.
There were no injuries.
A restaurant in union gap may have been a victim of arson.
Firefighters responded to reports of a fire outside jean's cottage inn on sunday night.
Surveilliance video appears to show two young men setting fire to the bushes outside the restaurant.
The owners say the union gap fire department was able to get the fire out quickly.
A 17-year-old boy suspected of supplying the gun used to shoot a prosser officer in august has been arrrested.
Court documents say tri-city officers asked yakima police to search an area home...where they believed the gun was located.
Swat officers reportedly found a stash of illegal items hidden in the crawlspace of the boy's basement bedroom.
Officers say they found an ar-15 rifle, a nine-millimeter handgun, a lot of u-s currency and large amounts of xanax and oxycodone officers suspect contains fentanyl.
> walla walla police are investigating another act of vandalism on a statue on marcus whitman.
The statue was spray painted -- the second time in nearly two weeks.
Since then, six other incidents of vandalism involving spray painting were reported on the college campus.
Crews have been working to clean it up and a police report was filed.
Police believe the suspect in both cases are the same.
Detectives are working to get surveillance footage.

An effort to recall oregon governor kate brown falls short-- for now.
The oregon gop chair announced they came up short of the necessary signatures...ahead of monday's deadline.
He told a radio host that the statewide effort had fallen less than 10-percent short of collecting the minimum number needed.
We don't know yet if another campaign to recall brown was successful.
At least 280,050 signatures are needed to begin the recall process.
