U.S. President Donald Trump took a slight dig on Wednesday at individuals and cities who've abandoned Columbus Day and instead opted for Indigenous Peoples' Day, saying to him, 'it will always be called Columbus Day'.

Trump made the comments at a news conference with Italy's President Sergio Mattarella in the East Room of the White House on Wednesday.

Some jurisdictions, including Seattle, have redesignated Columbus Day as Indigenous Peoples' Day to reflect that Native Americans were living on the continent before Christopher Columbus' 15th century arrival.
