You may have seen some frightening posts on social media about a child abduction scare in post falls, idaho.
Yesterday, a 5th grade girl was walking home from ponderosa elementary school when she says a truck pulled up and parked in front of her.
The school says the girl called her mom right away who then told her to go straight back to ponderosa until her mother could pick her up.
Our maher kawash is live in post falls with what the school says you should do if you have a child in that situation .
Its completely understandable for parents to be scared in situations like these.
And in this case the 5th grader did everything right.
I sat down with the school district today and they say the young girl was walking home from school with her friend just a couple blocks from ponderosa.
When the two girls split into different directions to go towards their homes, the young girl says a blue truck pulled up in front of her.
Now the girl had no interaction with the driver who she described as an older man with gray hair.
She was able to get back to the school safely.
The school district says it sent out an email to parents just warning them of the incident.
They say they take any threat seriously but have no other information on the man or truck the child saw saw but again they believe the child did everything right.
