Competition held by the kansas federal reserve bank.koams kaitlyn shive gives us a look at what this competition is all about.
Chris evans first found his love for software development as a kid.
Teaching himself how to take apart a computer and fixing them for family members.
"after doing that i got really fascinated with computers in gneral just by understanding a little more of how they work" he works part time as a programmer while he gets his computer information systems degree at pittsburg state.
"theres always new challenges and thats one of the things i love about it" now a unique code a thon competition is giving chris and four other students the chance to test their creativity.
"based on previous things i saw theres been a lot of good submissions and i think were gonna be up there with the better ones" creating software solutions to meaningful problems, the theme is helping entrepreuners to succeed.
So they created an app called entrepreneurchute.
"theres two types of people, theres an entrepeneur and theres a mentor"--over video "pretty much this essentially connects those tw o people together and then they can contact in anyway they want to they can communicate however they like"-over video.
Making it easier for entrepreneurs to find the help they need to start a business through simple requests on an app.
"groups of entrepreneurs can connect with these mentors together so not only does it allow you to hvae someone help you but it allows you to network with someone else whos having the same issues and struggles and create partnerships and stuff like that" their instructor john kuefler says hes beyond impressed with his students.
"theyre really just going above and beyond by doing this, representing the university well by doing this but also just having a great experience at the ssame time" "its probably been one of the best teams ive been on and theyve done a really good job at working together and getting things done so im really excited i could be apart of it" in pittsburg kaitlyn shive koam news.
