Chicago teachers end strike, reach deal

Chicago teachers will end their 11-day strike against the third-largest U.S. school system.

According to Reuters, union and district officials reached a tentative settlement.

The strike forced Chicago school to cancel classes for more than 300,000 students.

The new five-year contract adds funding for more than 400 additional social workers and nurses.

Additionally, the strike also demanded a wage increase for the district’s 25,000 teachers.
