Carnival Cruises Ban 'Offensive' Clothing and Other Items

Carnival Cruises Ban 'Offensive' Clothing and Other Items. Guidelines can be found on the company's online fact sheet, "Know Before You Go.".

Items worn during the cruise should not contain any message that may be considered offensive or contain nudity, profanity, sexual innuendo/suggestions, Carnival, via fact sheet.

The rules add that accessories promoting hatred, violence or deemed racial are also banned.

Carnival says that the rules are meant to make sure customers are comfortable when traveling.

That includes being around guests wearing clothing with inappropriate or threatening images or language, Carnival, via statement.

The changes stem from reports of people wearing clothes with "threatening messages" on other cruise ships.

A spokesperson for Carnival says the company doesn't expect many complaints about the new rules.

We really don’t anticipate this being a significant issue and our crew is not onboard to be the clothing or expression police, Carnival spokesperson, via 'PEOPLE'.

The spokesperson adds that the company will analyze future situations on a case-by-case basis
