Instagram CEO Inspired By 'Black Mirror' To Hide Likes

Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri talked about the company’s decision to test hiding the number of likes from users.

According to Business Insider, users will still see the likes on their own posts but not of others.

Mosseri said the choice was inspired partially by Netflix’s show, “Black Mirror.” Although he didn’t name the episode, people assumed it was Nosedive, which aired in 2016 in the third season.

The episode featured people rating each other and those ratings influencing how society treated people.
