Horrifying moment a ten-storey textile building became engulfed in a blazing fire in the west Indian state of Gujarat.

The incident took place in the early hours of Tuesday morning (January 21) in the Saroli market area of Surat.

Visuals show the textile building engulfed in flames as the fire brigades arrive at the scene to control the situation.

Firefighters are seen extinguishing the flames with the help of water hosepipes and climbing tower ladders to tackle burning in the upper storeys of the building, as black clouds of smoke continue to erupt.

According to local media, more than 50 fire engines were called upon to control the situation, waging a five-hour battle.

The damage caused by the fire is yet to be assessed and the cause of the fire is currently under investigation.

Fortunately, no have casualties have been reported.
