Man uses rodents to scam hotels into free stays

37-year-old Ryan Sentelle State is facing criminal charges after police discovered he was using rodents to receive free hotel rooms. According to Utah police, State would begin his scam by releasing hamsters and rats into his hotel room .

State would then complain to staff and point out the feces left by the rodents .

Ultimately asking not to be charged for the hotel room, because of the mess left by the rodents.

State's scam cost property owners thousands of dollars.

As they had to hire pest control to remove the creatures from the rooms and clean up leftover mess.

State has reportedly pulled off the stunt at three hotels.

But police believe he may have scammed multiple other hotels in the area as well.

He faces five class B misdemeanor charges: three counts of criminal mischief and two charges of theft by deception
