The Paris appeals court have released Patrick Balkany, the former mayor of the Paris suburb of Levallois-Perret, on health grounds.
Footage from Wednesday (February 12) shows journalists run after a car transporting Balkany away from La Santé Prison in Paris.
Balkany has been detained since September 13 following a conviction for financial fraud.
