Thick shards of ice form as Lake Baikal in Siberia freezes over in December 2019.
The filmer told Newsflare: "It usually freezes in the time frame from the middle of January to the beginning of February.
"It's not dangerous to walk on because ice now consists of pieces of thick and thin ice frozen together.
"Ice thickness now at this area is 10 cm."
