And so fans and supporters of the team gathered to welcome home the champs sunday afternoon.

This past weekend was one for the record books as well.

The braves set a record with 299 points..

Had 9 finalists... and 10 top 3 finishers... and they even broke the previous school record of 4 champions with 6 champs.

I mean we were just more excited than everybody, we wanted it more and we showed it we got it done early and we secured it before the finals happened.

You know i'll remember it for ever, 20 years down the road it's never not leaving it's going to stick with me forever and it means everything.

Our team this year it was different, we got frustrated with each other but we're all friends, we're all close and we all believed in each other and we knew we could do big things.

It's unbelievable just a group of kids coming from a little small community able to accomplish something like that is it's just a dream come true.

Here in indiana, we are preparing for the state wrestling meet this upcoming weekend.

There will be 10 area schools represented this weekend so lets take a look at the brackets.

On saturday..

Memorial's kyler west earned a trip to the state meet with a second place finish at sem?

State.

West will represent memorial in 106 and will open up the tournament with a match against jeffrey bailey of river forest.

Moving up to 113... cole ross of mater dei punched his ticket to indy with a second place finish as well.

The junior will enter the tournament and square off with dylan driver of westfield.

Heading up to 120..

The area will be well represented here.

Mater dei's alec freeman earned the top spot in this class.

Freeman will battle anthony hughes of lawrence north.

But he will also be joined by ayden amento of central..

The bear will be battling zeke seltzer of indianapolis cathedral.

And last but not least..

Sam scott of heritage hills starts his tournament against carson eldred of westfield.

In 126..

Mater dei's ashton hayhurst will represent the wildcats.

Hayhurst begins his state tournament against dylan stroud of manchester.

And the wildcats continue to make their presence known in 132.

Kane egli earned a trip to the state capital with a second place finish at
