This spring.
California and new york have passed legislation to protect people who want to wear their national hair.
Now á a lawmaker in minnesota wants to follow suit.
The legislation is called "the crown act" á it would dictate that minnesotans cannot be discriminated against because of hairstyles, including braids and natural curls.
Xxx "nobody should be discriminated against for their hairstyle, everybody should be able to do whatever the heck they want."
The bill will be presented to the judiciary committee next week.
