Man swims in four foot deep floodwater

This is the hilarious moment a fun-loving flood victim made the most of swirling waters near his home by going for a quick swim - on a nearby FOOTBALL PITCH. Malcolm Halford, 23, donned his swimming trunks and waded into four-foot-deep floodwater on a local playing field.Mobile phone footage shows him scaling a fence post before diving into the waters head first.Goalposts came be seen sticking out of the floodwater in the background. The chance opportunity came about on Monday after Malcolm's hometown of Wetherby, West Yorks, was decimated by flooding. He visited nearby playing fields to view the devastation but was sidetracked when his friend Sam said he'd pay £20 to see someone jump in and swim a  around one of the pitches. Inspired by the challenge, Malcolm popped home and got his trunks on before returning to the scene and getting stuck in. He said: "We went down to see the flooding and when I saw the water I thought, 'I'd love to go in for a little swim'. "My mate dared me to live up to my word and I just thought, 'screw it, why not?'"I got in and it was absolutely bloody freezing, it had been snowing earlier in the day so a lot of it was just melted snow. "I managed to do a nice dive but it was way too cold to do a lap around a pitch."Despite braving the sub-zero temperatures Malcolm's pal Sam didn't even pay up - because he didn't complete an entire lap. However, the warehouse operative said it was "worth it" for the hilarious video.
