Today we learned the convicted murderer who escaped from prison - repeatedly threatened officers when they tracked him down in morgan county.

She is back on the scene where he killed someone almost 30 years ago.
Im live in albertville where the story started for daniel miner in 1993.
It's calm and peaceful here today but it was very different one county over when the us marshal agents and officers from across north alabama recaptured him.
Today, investigators told me he posed a major threat to their safety.
They told me miner made threats and indicated he had a knife and even talked about an explosive device.
U.s. marshals were serving a warrant at a home in falkville last night and confirmed escaped inmate daniel miner was inside.
Today, i learned more about those tense moments that lasted for more than an hour.
Investigators said miner forced the standoff by talking about explosives.
The morgan county sheriff's office and other agencies set up a perimeter around the home to monitor the area.
That's because miner was unpredictable..
I spoke with the morgan county sheriff's office about how officers adjusted when they identified the state of mind miner was in....and why so many agencies were involved.
Anyone who was watching was able to see it was very planned, very meticulous, and that all revolved law enforcements safety.
This is a convicted murdered who was a history of violence, on the run facing lives, we had very few things that are gonna keep him from taking someone else's life i spoke with albertville police who told me when miner was initially arrested for the murder in 1993 at this home, they have no recollection of his behavior similar to last nights.
It is still of question as to why miner was staying in a low security facility with the department of corrections if he displayed such destructive behavior.
