- I am for sure so CCM, sorry.- [Interviewer] Just swappedout the microphone you broke.[Connor laughing]- What's up GQ Sports?I'm Connor McDavid andthese are my essentials.[light music]Biosteel, this is their preworkout,I have it before everygame and during every game.Gives ya a little extra boost.There's no sugar whichis nice, daily vitamins,this is collagen, vitaminC that I take as well.They have a ton of different flavors,this is the original flavor,I don't even know what you would call it.I'm still an original guy,I think they nailed it the first time.The OG Biosteel preworkout.Nice!Speaking of working out.The UB 20s, been with Adidasnow for a couple years,gotta work out and I liketo live an active lifeso these help me do that.- [Interviewer] Are you a big sneakerguy like sneakerhead or no?- Just ever since I've been with Adidas,I've kinda become one just'cause they're constantlysending me new shoes, I got acloset full of shoes for sure,but not the craziest one, that's for sure.Sorry.My CCM stick.This ones pretty obvious,this is what I do every day,this is my life, so if Idon't have my tools to workthen I can't play hockey, sothis is pretty important to me.- [Interviewer] Why doyou guys tape the bottomof the stick and why do you tape the top?- Tape the bottom foryou know, puck control.Then tape the top justfor a little extra grip.I've seen some of the craziest thingswith guys and their stick.I play with Leon Draisaitlwho uses pretty much a canoepaddle for a stick, I've seenguys do just about anythingwith their hockey stick.My next essential would be the 11T Parka,a nice warm jacket is obviously essentialfor cold Canadian winters,living in Edmontonand playing hockey in Edmonton,it's a little bit cold,actually last week it was thecoldest place on the planet,literally, that's not an exaggeration.I've worked with 11T a couple times,they've helped me outwith you know red carpetsand stuff like that, allstar games or at the awards,they just have a little bitof a different, unique styleand something that I like.My next essential wouldbe the apple airpods.Pretty self explanatory Imean we're on the road a lot,music on the bus or music on the planeis essential and if youdon't have much space,those can fit just about anywhere,so yeah definitely important.- [Interviewer] What's onConnor's pregame playlist?- You know, I'm not someonethat wears the headphonesinto the rink, usually liketo interact with the guysand talk to the guys before the gameand I usually just listento music on down timeor to kill time.My next essential is the apple phone.Everyone these days lives on their phone,it helps you stay connectedbeing on the road,you know people to talkto, friends and family,it makes it easy.- [Interviewer] What's yourfavorite app on the iPhone?- I guess the NHL, NHL app,just keepin' up with scores.You have to pay attention all the timeI mean in our division we're a tight race,you know every night matters.So you know, seeing whatthose teams are doin'.Black licorice, thisis one of my favorites.I got a bit of a sweet toothand this is what I choose.I remember being a kid andif you go and rent a movieand get a bag of licoriceand that was our thing,I don't know it's kindajust stuck with me.- [Interviewer] Can youdescribe the taste of licorice?- Yeah, just tastes like licorice,that's the only way youcan describe it really.Another essential are the sunglasses.In Edmonton with all thesnow, it can be pretty bright,a lot of people don't knowthat Edmonton actuallygets a lot of sun, these are Raybans.Funny story about thesesunglasses have never left me.I've lost them probablynumerous times at concerts,dropped them on the ground,I thought that was the end ofthem and somebody actuallybrought them back to mean hour later, I had themstolen out of my car,found 'em in the grass couple weeks later.So these will never leave me.Another essential wouldprobably be my dog,I just got him, he's just a puppy still.He's a miniature bernadoodle, names Lenny.There's no real meaningbehind it at all, honestly.I just thought it was funny.Just looks like a Lenny, huh?Cute little guy, keeps me goin' for sure.Doesn't care if you havea good game or a bad game,just wants to love ya anywayso definitely essential.My last essential wouldbe the CIBC Visa Card,I mean this ones anotherpretty self-explanatory thing,you pay for stuff and pay for groceries.- [Interviewer] Do you guyshave the tap in Canada yet?- We got the tap, yeah.I think most Americans thinkthat in Canada we just livein igloos and just walk aroundthere's just snow everywherebut no we have the tap andwe have some technology.- [Interviewer] Cool,thanks for cleaning that up.- That's it guys, thanks for watching,these are my essentialsand I'll see ya on the ice!
