NASA has announced that all staff are now under a mandatory order to work from home.

Jim Bridenstine, the space agency's administrator, made the announcement on Tuesday.

The mandate is in effect "until further notice" due to the ongoing spread of coronavirus in the US.

According to Reuters, NASA has approximately 17,000 employees.

Currently only "mission-essential personnel" will be permitted on-site at space agency centers and facilities.
