Target to Reserve Weekly Time Slot for ‘Vulnerable’ Shoppers With the coronavirus pandemic causing people across the nation to stockpile goods, many stores have been experiencing unimaginable shortages.

This panic buying has caused a number of shoppers, mainly at-risk groups, to have a difficult time finding the supplies they need.

In order to ensure that those who are most vulnerable to COVID-19 have a safe, accessible shopping experience, Target has decided to set aside a portion of time exclusively for the elderly and those with underlying health concerns.

Starting March 18 in all 1,800 of Target’s stores, the first hour of each Wednesday will be reserved for “vulnerable guests” only.

This will allow them to not only take their time shopping, but it will also prevent overcrowding, which is especially dangerous to their health because of the coronavirus' infectious nature.

Target is encouraging its other guests to “plan their shopping trips around this time frame.”
