Shelters Say Fear Of US-Mexico Border Causes Spike In Immigration

Migrant shelters reported more immigrants crossing the U.S.- Mexico border illegally.

According to Reuters, a reason for this spike is fear of the U.S. closing off the border to fight the coronavirus.

Two administration sources said they are considering immediately returning any foreigners caught at the border.

After more than 133,000 apprehensions in May 2019, President Donald Trump threatened Mexico with tariffs.
