People with comrpomised immune systems are more at risk of having complications fighting off the coronavirus.

We're checking in with a place in rochester that cares for highárisk people visiting the med city.

Yeah katie á george á i'm here at gift of life transplant house in rochester where people awaiting organ á stem cell á or marrow transplants at mayo clinic stay.

The house isn't shutting down, though (visitors( are not allowed to come in and see patients until at least until may 15th.

Executive director mary wilder tells me because of the compromised immune systems of many of the guests á gift of life transplant house is always very sanitary á but its taking extra precautions by wiping down common surfaces.

By staying open á the house believes its ensuring transplant patients and their caretakers have a safe á clean place to stay in rochester.

We have an incredible staff, an incredible board of directors that main focus anad main concern is for the health of those immunocompro mized guests and making sure that they stay health during this period of time.

God bless america god bless all of us as we go through this because of the stay at home order á 5 gift of life transplant house staff members who are considered high risk have to stay at home beginning monday á which will reduce staff from 19 to 14.
