Waay-31 news we've been talking a lot the past couple of weeks about the spread of the coronavirus and had a lot of numbers.

So let's take a look at just how quickly this is spreading and how alabama compares to other parts of the southeast.

Taking a look at north alabama over the past three days, you can see the rate of spread in our area.

Right now, madison has the most cases with 62 and increased about 44 percent from thursday's numbers.

Morgan and limestone counties also have significant numbers for our area and have increased about 66 and 33 percent over the past few days.

If we take a wider view of our state, since thursday, we've seen a nearly 44 percent increase in our total cases.

We've gone from 501 cases up to now 720.

So how does that rate of spread compare to our neighboring states?

Even though we have the fewest number of confirmed cases out of these six, except for mississippi, we our rate of spread is about the same here as it is in tennessee, georgia and louisiana.
