After his original party was canceled due to the coronavirus outbreak, 105-year-old WWII veteran Sam Sachs was surprised with over six thousand birthday cards, a parade of vehicles, music and well-wishes from neighbors as he watched and waved from the front of his seniors' home in Lakewood, California.

Neighbors sat socially-distanced outside of a senior facility in Lakewood, California on Sunday (April 26), as a parade of vehicles went by, to celebrate the 105th birthday of World War Two veteran Sam Sachs.

According to CBS News, Sachs' birthday party was originally canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The veteran had asked for just a couple of birthday cards but ended up getting over six thousand of them, as well as over 44 flags on the lawn.

Sachs reportedly got a card from U.S. President Donald Trump.

Speaking into a microphone from the steps of the seniors' home, Sachs told the crowd his secret to long-lasting health: "Moderation in whatever you do.

Don't go overboard on food or drink or whatever.

Stay the middle course."
