Kathy Hochul made herself available to media Wednesday to answer questions regarding the state's response to coronavirus and the re-opening plan.
To the media around the state today and did about a dozen interviews, including wth us here at wktv.
News channel two's gary liberatore has more on what she talked about...from getting businesses back open ...to new yorkers still trying to navigate the unemployment system.

Governor says many people are working with the upstate regions to get businesses re-opened...most likley some starting on may 15th...and she says she feel for those folks who have been trying to maneuever through the unemployment system....but have been having issues.
Tc : 03:30 "we have already paid out over $3 billion and unemployment benefits that's an extraordinarily high number to welland over 1 1/2 million new yorkers and in one sense the easier ones were to issue checks and process the people who are traditional, the ones that we were always cover during traditional normal downturn in the economy.
What we have now is a different class of individuals.
Imagine the soul proprietors, the uber drivers or the gig economy or the part-timers none of them were ever eligible for new york state unemployment insurance so because that money is coming from the federal government it morecompln excusehat's jt saying therealita different time frame in terms of the whole class of people but thank god they're eligible, but they're gonna have money to go back to the date on the first lost her job, not when they first filed."

Governor is the 'coordinator of reopening'...for the western new york region...and former lt.
Governor bob duffy is the 'coordinator of reopening' for the finger lakes region....but there have been no other coordinators assigned yet for the other regions of the state...including here in the mohawk valley.

Govenror says there are people at the state level looking at the covid-19 numbers region by region every day....but did not say why only those two regions have a designated coordinator.
