Arrest and pepper spray as Hong Kong Protesters 'celebrate' Carrie Lam's birthday in Shatin

As protesters organized protests called "sing with you" in various malls across the city to "celebrate" the anniversary of Carrie Lam, the Chief Executive of Hong Kong, some protesters got arrested by plainclothes policemen in New Town Plaza, the Shatin mall.

In the video, three men can be seen pinning a single protester to the ground, then threatening people around with pepper spray.

They started spraying when a lady attempted to pull down the spray with an umbrella.

Several journalists got hit in the crossfire, as protesters were intermingled with them.

Uniformed police eventually arrived to establish a cordon to push back the journalists and bystanders.
