Sam Vidlak decommits from Montana to join Oregon State

"and so at that point it became essentially like my dream school.

But at that point you can't just lock in on one school you know?"

That was hidden valley quarterback sam vidlak talking about his decision to commit to the university of montana before the big d-1 schools came calling.

And there is no doubt that vidlak still loves montana.

But when a quarterback see's the defense evolve into something else, he calls an audible.

Today, vidlak called a big audible.

Decomitting from montana, and commiting to the oregon state university.

Vidlak made the announcement in a series of tweets today where he first displayed his excitiement to be a beaver.

"i am pretty excited.

I am excited to be a beaver, i am excited to stay in my home state.

You know it is a really neat opportunity and i am really thankful for it.

So, i am excited."

Sam told me that he has a really tough time dealing with having to decommit from montana, because he truly loves it there.

At the end of the day though, proximity to home took over.

This is a program that is certainly not the best in the pac-12, but one that is greatly improving, and one that vidlak feels he can help win.

"i am going to do everything i can to contribute to the success of oregon state.

If people remember right, when i came into hidden valley, we were not a top program in that state.

I think we won one game my freshmen year, as a varisty program.

Last year we were the state runner-up, so i am excited for the challneges ahead at oregon state.

So, i am looking forward to it.
