Dehradun district administration is doing community surveillance with the help grassroot workers amid coronavirus pandemic.
Accredited Social Health Activist (ASHA) workers, Anganwadi workers and government teachers are deputed to conduct daily door-to-door health surveillance of citizens in COVID-19 containment zones.
They are conducting surveillance in Shiva Enclave and Awas Vikas colony of Uttarakhand's Rishikesh.
While speaking to ANI, the District Magistrate of Dehradun, Dr Ashish Kumar Srivastava said, "The health status of residents of containment areas is monitored regularly.
During house-to-house survey, we see if anyone has symptoms of cough, fever, etc.
And their travel history.
This helps us analyze their health status better." There are total 82 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Uttarakhand.
According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the total number of COVID-19 active cases rose to 53,035 with 2752 deaths in India.
